Jackson has reached the age where there is a steady stream of words coming from his mouth whenever his eyes are open. Sometimes he says some really funny things and we have tried to remember as many of those as we can! Here are some of the good ones:
• At the grocery store Jackson pointed to a woman resembling his Grandma (Namma) and said "It's Namma!" We explained that the woman was someone else and not his Namma. He followed with "It's people's Namma!" Now we sometimes refer to Namma-looking women as “the people’s Namma”.
• Two of Jackson’s favorite things are cardboard boxes and a children’s movie about the Easter Bunny. One day he was pretending that his stuffed bear lived in a box. Steve tried to put a toy bunny that Jackson calls “Easter Bunny” in the box and Jackson said, “no!” Steve asked him where the bunny lived and he said “the Easter Bunny lives in the movie!”
• I sat Jackson down at the kitchen table while I was making his lunch one day. He was hungry and wanted to eat right away so he said “Mommy I'm freaking out! I need macaroni and cheese!"
• When Steve was tucking Jackson into bed one night he asked him if he wanted to be covered with his blanket. He said that, yes, he was cold because he had ice cream in his tummy.
• Mommy: "Jackson, I'm washing your blueberries." Jackson: "Oh my God! That's serious!"
• Jackson hugged Logan and said, "ahhhh, he's getting so big!"
• At a birthday party for a one year old, the guest of honor was slowly making her way around the tables in her little flowery party dress. Jackson, seeing this, pointed to her and shouted, "look! It's walking!"
• In a whiny voice, "Mommy! There's boogers on my dinosaur!"
• Jackson has the first and second Ice Age movies on DVD. One day I asked him if he wanted to watch the old Ice Age or new Ice Age movie. He replied, "I want to watch cold Ice Age".
• Mommy: "Jackson, are you ready to eat dinner?" Jackson: "How about two weeks?"
• We brought out our box set of classic children’s Christmas movies this week and Jackson fell in love with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer but couldn’t remember the name of it. He knew that it had a deer with a blinking nose and a snow monster. When his grandma asked him what movie he was watching, he said, “Blinky and the monster!"
• I was goofing around with Jackson last night and acting silly. He held my face in his hands and told me to "calm down" and said "deep breaths" while demonstrating how to take a deep breath.
